In 1930 the Belgian State Railways ordered their first three diesel railcars from the Wismar Waggonfabrik Company (formerly EVA). The Belgian class 600 is basically the same as the DRG railcars VT 651 to 671. The output of a Maybach motor was 175 horsepower and was transmitted by a four-speed gearbox through a jackshaft and side rods to a truck. This railcar weighed 42 tons and reached a speed of 80 km/h (50 mph). The last of these railcars, no. 600.02, was in use in the Gent area until 1955.
This model was a cooperative project with the TRIX Company.
